Welcome to a new format. A new blog. A change from what we have done since our sweet Matthew was born over seven years ago.
We are toasting our new house and some other changes. Here's to new and exciting and fun. And here is a quick run-down of what's different in our world...
-New house.
We spent a long weekend moving. Preparation and packing has been weeks in the making. And even though we had a plan in mind, Navy life happened and we went with our Plan B. We are so incredibly blessed to have AMAZING friends here who used their muscles and their cars to help out. The ladies (plus Jeff) moved boxes and small things Thursday and Friday. Saturday the guys cleared out the big stuff. It would not have happened at all if not for the awesomeness of our friends (and their families)!
The new house is lovely. It's big and open and has more space than we know what to do with. I am frustrated by the pace of unpacking and settling. I guess I feel a lit of pressure (no one's fault but mine). Jeff and Andy and the boys have been amazing at helping and assembling and jumping from box unpacking to hanging things to helping cook and participate in daily housekeeping. I have a goal to get the downstairs and baby room complete by Saturday. Fingers crossed. Pictures will be posted as soon as there are no cardboard boxes in sight.
-New School
So after a crazy, whirlwind, stressful weekend, the boys started school today. They were both nervous as the school is new to both of them. But Matt was worried about not knowing everything he should and making friends and Nic was stressing about not knowing his teacher. Granted, he had awesome teachers last year. Luckily, it seems they both have great teachers and are excited to go back tomorrow.
-Baby..?!
The less than a month countdown is on for Emerson's arrival. We have an induction date as a last resort, but are hoping he decides to get here in his own time. Nic asks everyday if Em is coming. Matt is still measuring my belly by him being able to fit his arms around me. He still can, but it is looking more and more like a beachball...a big one!! I am excited to have the time to get Emerson's room put together (finally). And thankfully, I am not feeling too bad. But we are all looking forward to meeting him. Sometime.
That is the big stuff for now. I will be the one doing most of the updating, but I am hoping the guys in the family (Andy, Matt and Nic) take advantage and share their thoughts from time to time as well.
