Gangam Style

If you haven't seen the video...go watch it now on YouTube.  It is silly and weird and funny.  And the tune is catchy.

So it started as a viral thing and now has 255,000,000+ views, a ton of "cover" videos, and is getting radio play (at least on the local stations).

And it is the song of the moment of our house.  We listen to it full blast and have dance parties when we need a moment of silly (homework breaks and chore time).  We also make up our own lyrics (heeeeeeey stinky baaaaby!) to fit whatever we are doing.  It's ridiculous and crazy.

But here is what I love about it.  And by "it" I don't mean the song, I mean our family's ridiculousness.  I LOVE that we just go all in with our fun.  It isn't just me being goofy.  It is Andy, too.  And the boys.  We embrace the silly and dive right into the weird horse riding sort of dance.  It's just another way I feel so blessed to have awesome kiddos and a kick-booty husband.
I am hoping that the silliness and more so the confidence that who ever they are, whatever their personality, they are loved and respected stays with the boys.  I hope that they are unafraid to be themselves even if it means they are sometimes foolish or weird.  And I hope that they don't ridicule others for being "different".  Maybe that is a bit of a big leap to take from dancing in our kitchen.  But I feel like home is the first place kids learn life lessons, and if dance parties and silly songs help lay a foundation of being a good person, I am all for it.
