There are a few sounds in this world that make my heart sing.
The sound of the front door at the end of the day, signaling Andy is home.
Popcorn popping on the stove...pinging around in a well seasoned pan.
Rain on a tin cabana roof in the middle of a tropical paradise.
Snow. Yes, it has a sound--hushed and peaceful.
But my favorite sounds, the best I have ever heard, is the laughter that comes from my children.
Deep, true, belly laughs.
At a tickle.
Or a joke.
Or an observed silliness.
Best sound ever.
And I got to hear Em's first real, true, big belly laugh this evening. His laugh made me laugh which made him laugh harder. I hope the joy on his face was a reflection on the joy on mine.
That moment will join the moments I first heard Matt laugh like that (at his Jellybean) and Nic laugh like that (at Matt making faces). It will make me smile every single time I remember it.
