Over the summer I signed Matt and I up for a Color Run 5K. I didn't sign Nic up because five and under run for free, but he was going to run it with us.
With a date of November 3rd (7 weeks after my due date), I figured it would be a perfect kick-start to my get back in shape post-Emerson plan as well as a fun way to introduce the boys to running 5K's.
The Color Run isn't timed. There are no awards for first place. There is just a bunch of people running, getting color bombs thrown at and over them, and having fun.
We were all very excited to do it. Except maybe Nic. He was worried the colors would hurt.
I got sick Friday night. Like SICK sick. So the Color Run wasn't going to happen for me. Happily, we have awesome Ohana and they picked up Matt so he could still do it. Nic was a-ok to stay home and hang with Jeff and Emerson.
The super sweet icing on the awesome race-cake was that Matt wore Andy's old running shorts and sunglasses. He was so incredibly proud to have a little bit of daddy with him.
I am mostly going to let the pictures speak to how much fun little dude had...but I will say he hasn't stopped smiling.
Also: this warm-up video, courtesy of Karen (as are the other photos)...kills me everytime I watch!

So, while I am really sad I missed Matt's first 5K and what looks to be a ridiculously fun race, I am incredibly proud of my little guy. I know there are more family 5K's in the future...hopefully the next Color Run will be with Andy and Nic.
